It is amazing how when you come up with a great idea and begin to work with it, adversities come and try to get you off track. I am so proud to say that after a long year of being discouraged and almost convinced that what A Princess Wish is trying to do is not important, A Princess Wish is still pressing on!! Our application for Federal Non-Profit Status will be mailed off by the end of next week!!! We will also host our first "Inspired Princess Workshop" for the young ladies of "Girls with Purpose" at the Carver Road Library in Winston-Salem this summer!!!
I attended a graduation recently and the High School Principal read the following quote:
It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again, because there is no effort without error and shortcoming; but who does actually strive to do the deeds; who knows great enthusiasms, the great devotions; who spends himself in a worthy cause; who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly, so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who neither know victory nor defeat.
Her message was not for me but I got so much out of it!! Some progress is better than none at all! A Princess Wish is in the arena! Our tiaras may have lost a few jewels and our hair may be tossled but our mission is clear and we will PRESS ON!! Pray for us and we journey to empower girls in our community!
